Santa Letter Drop-Off

Santas red mailbox is back in the Clubhouse and his elves are getting ready to answer all the special letters delivered by residents of New Brighton! He'll be making stops at the Clubhouse starting on November 22nd 2024 to collect all the letters in the mailbox and will have his elves respond + mail them back! Letters must be dropped off by 9pm on December 15th 2024 to ensure his elves have the time needed to mail them back. This service is for New Brighton residents only and letters will only be mailed to New Brighton addresses. How to get your letter to Santa (and make sure it gets returned!): Write a special letter to Santa. Include a return address so his elves know where to send a response to. Drop the letter off at the New Brighton Clubhouse in our red mailbox (inside the Clubhouse next to the office). All letters must be received before December 15th at 9pm to ensure a response before the holidays.    

Coats for Calgary

The New Brighton Clubhouse is an official drop off location for Coats for Calgary! Please donate any unneeded/unwanted winter coats at the Clubhouse from now until the 21st of January 2025. Thank you!

Calgary Food Bank Donations

Hello New Brighton! We're happy to be able to offer a Calgary Food Bank Donation Bin right here at the Clubhouse! This bin will be in place from now until the end of January and donations of non-perishable food items welcomed. A donation of any non-perishable food is fantastic, and the following are especially needed: Canned Food Vegetables (carrots, peas, green beans, mixed vegetables, tomatoes) Fruits (peaches, pears, pineapple, mixed fruit, oranges) Proteins (ham, turkey, chicken, salmon, tuna, beans) Any soups Grains Pasta Macaroni Rice Cereal Misc. Rink Board Sponsorships

The New Brighton Residents Association has got a brand new sponsorship opportunity to showcase your business to a wide audience of potential clientelle. Showcase your company name/logo on the New Brighton hockey rink boards throughout the 2024/2025 skating season and beyond. The New Brighton Hockey Rink is used widely throughout the year for a variety of value-add activities, programs, and events. 2024 Annual General Meeting

The New Brighton Residents Association is pleased to host the 2024 Annual General Meeting virtually through Zoom at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Residents who plan on attending the AGM must pre-register, click here to pre-register prior to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024. A reminder and instructions will be emailed on September 30, 2024 by 5:00pm. The meeting will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. on October 1, 2024. Any late arrivals will be unable to vote once the scrutineer's report has been delivered. All residents who plan on attending the AGM must be in good standing with the NBRA. Unable to attend? That’s okay! Please take 5 minutes to submit your proxy vote instead of attending. The proxy is available below. Please complete it and email it to gm@nbra.ca by 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024.   2024 NBRA Annual General Meeting Proxy Held each year, the NBRA Annual General Meeting provides residents with the perfect opportunity to receive updates regarding NBRA operations and ask any outstanding questions that they may have. For residents with an email on file with the association, an electronic copy of the AGM package was sent to your email address at noon on September 6, 2024. Those residents who do not have an email address on file will have a copy mailed to them on Friday, September 6, 2024. If you have not received a copy of this package prior to Friday, September 12, 2024, either electronically or via mail, please visit the New Brighton Clubhouse located at 2 New Brighton Drive, email admin@nbra.ca, or call 403-781-6613, X:1 to request a copy. Splash Park Closure

Hello New Brighton, Due to the water main break in the Bowness area as reported by the City of Calgary, multiple emergency water restrictions have been put in place. The New Brighton Residents Association did not complete our turning on of our Splash Park this morning, and it has been decided to keep the NBRA Splash Park off until further notice. Thank you for your understanding in these matters.

Pickleball Group

Calling all New Brighton pickleball players!   Every Sunday from 9:30am-11am, Court 1 (two Pickleball courts) will be blocked for any residents and their guests to come play Pickleball (no need to book ahead). Up to 8 people can play at a time and availability will be on a first come first serve basis. Racquets and balls can be borrowed at the Clubhouse front desk.   Residents will need to sign in their guests at the front desk, before going to the courts.  

NBRA Splash Park Opening

After a lot of hard work by all the NBRA Maintenance Team we're proud to announce that the Splash Park will be open tomorrow, May 17th, at 9am! The NBRA Splash Park will be turned on every morning at 9am unless it is extremely rainy/stormy, at which point we will only turn on the park by request. Come down to the Clubhouse, and don't forget to bring a towel and sunscreen.

Lemonade Stand Contest

The New Brighton Community Association is looking for the first team of young residents to operate the new community lemonade stand during the Chalk in the Park event, on Neighbour Day, June 15, 2024 from 10am - 12pm!  Complete contest details are provided below! Be sure to enter soon, as the contest deadline is June 3, 2024 at 5pm!  

New Brighton Lemonade Stand

The New Brighton Community Association and New Brighton Residents Association joined forces for the 2024 year to secure funds from the Activate YYC Grant to bring the community a unique idea to keep residents engaged! It is our pleasure to reveal that New Brighton has been successful in receiving funds for a community lemonade and hot chocolate stand! Commencing June 17, 2024, this stand can be borrowed by young community residents to host their own entrepreneurial ventures… all they need to provide are the disposables and beverages! The NBCA & NBRA will also be happy to promote the date, time, and location that children will be hosting the stand on our community social media sites! Additional details are provided in the image below. If you have additional questions, please call our Customer Service Team at 403-781-6613.  The NBRA will be taking reservations for the stand beginning June 1, 2024!

Every Kid Can Play Program

Great news New Brighton! For the 2024 year, the NBRA was lucky to receive funding from the Every Kid Can Play Program! The EKCP Fund exists to ensure equal opportunity for children across the Province to participate in sport programming. Funding from this program offsets operational expenses for these programs, enabling us to reduce registration fees by $40/program for the Summer, Fall and Winter Sessions! Summer program registration opens at 9am on May 16th, so make sure to check out www.newbrighton-connect.com for all the great programs on offer, now available at a lower price thanks to the EKCP Fund.

Updated Stat. Holiday Hours

To ensure the best use of NBRA resources, the NBRA Clubhouse and Park will have reduced hours on all recognized Stat Holidays.  Commencing with Victoria Day, May 20, 2024 the NBRA will be open from 11am-6pm.  These hours will be in effect for all Stat Holidays moving forward. Thank you for your understanding, and the team looks forward to serving you during these special hours.  If you have any questions, please call 403-781-6613, and we will be happy to assist.

Hockey Rink Update

The New Brighton Hockey Rink will be closed March 6th from 6PM-8:30PM to allow a hockey lesson to run that previously needed to be moved due to warm weather. The Pleasure Rink will remain open as normal. Thank you!

New Brighton Colouring Book

For the very first time ever, the NBRA has put together a colouring book with the creative assistance of 2AMIllustrations. With several New Brighton community features, did you knows and colouring fun, this makes for a perfect keepsake! Colouring books are available for purchase at the New Brighton Clubhouse for $8.00.

Customer Experience Survey

Rink Status: Both closed Jan 28 @ 2:45pm

As of 2:45pm on Sunday, January 28th 2024, both rinks are closed due to soft ice conditions caused by the warm temperatures.  It will be posted on this site as soon as they can be re-opened.  Thank you in advance for your understanding.
