The New Brighton Residents Association is proud to host several events each year. These events are free to attend and open to all New Brighton residents (in good standing). Due to space constraints, some events require RSVP.

Winter Carnival

The snow is falling and the rinks are gleaming! Join the NBRA for an afternoon of skating, hot chocolate, marshmallow roasting and lots of outdoor winter activities! Bundle up because its sure to be cold! The KidSport Shack Shack will be at the Clubhouse to allow skate rentals for the event time! Skate/helmet rentals are available to individuals 18 years or older, or to those under 18 when accompanied by an adult. The NBRA Winter Carnival is a weather dependent event, if weather reaches plus temperatures the rinks may not be open, and if the weather is below -20 outdoor activity stations will be halted. Tot Time

Tot Time (Wednesdays 1:30pm-3:00pm) - $2.Drop in Bring your little ones and join a fun afternoon of socialization and unstructured free play with the Bounce House. Parents can enjoy coffee and great company while the kids bounce around!  

Seniors Club

The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Card Club ($2 drop in), The NBRA is excited to host the New Brighton Seniors Card Club, offering a variety of different card games and great conversation each week. Spend the afternoon enjoying new games, meeting new friends, and exploring everything that the NBRA has to offer.  

Good Food Box

The Good Food Box (GFB) is a program under the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary whereby you can purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at a very low cost. The Good Food Box is a hands-up program as opposed to hands-out. They offer all Calgarians’ sustainable access to nutritious food to ensure that no one has to go hungry. The boxes are put together and delivered by dedicated volunteers who along with The Community Kitchen desire to see individuals and families accessing affordable nutritious food.  Cut off: January 21st at NOON Delivery: January 31st                                               Small: $30 Medium: $35 Large: $40

Tween's Night Out (10-14yrs)

Tween Night (10-14 yrs only) - 1st Friday of the month 7pm-8:30pm Let’s have some fun to the Clubhouse! New Brighton Tweens (10-14 yrs only) are invited to a night of games, competitions & good times.  Doors open at 7pm so grab your friends and meet us there. *Tweens ages 10 & 11 must have a parent sign them in & out to participate. * ($2 drop in, includes snacks)   RSVP is required         

Jr. Canvas Creations

Join us for a morning of painting and fun! Teen Canvas Creations

Gather friends together for a fun afternoon of creating & painting in this workshop tailored for teens. The instructor will review different styles and techniques used to make a masterpiece. Canvas Creations (18+)

Come to the Clubhouse for a relaxing evening of creativity! Learn the technique behind different painting styles and get in touch with your inner artist while visiting with friends! Create your masterpiece from start to finish and take it home to show off your new skills. Drinks will be available for the duration of the workshop. *Note: 1st drink is included with program cost, additional drinks will be sold at a cost of $5 each at the front desk*

Valentine's Skate

Love is in the air and so is the smell of hot chocolate! Make your way to the NBRA Clubhouse Friday, February 14th, 2025 for the Valentine's Skate. Enjoy skating with your loved ones, get a cup of delicious hot chocolate, and pickup free valentines day candy! The KidSport Shack Shack will be at the Clubhouse to allow skate rentals for the event time! This event is only open to residents of New Brighton, but RSVP is not required. Royal Tyrrell Museum Sleepover

Have you ever imagined an exciting night at the museum? Bring your imagination to reality by joining fellow New Brighton neighbours for the ultimate sleepover experience at the Royal Tyrrell Museum! Attendees will participate in unique hands-on workshops, explore the museum with flashlights in the dark and even sleep under real dinosaur fossils! After the sleepover all attendees are able to spend the next day exploring the museum at their leisure! New Brighton's Royal Tyrrell Sleepover will take place on Friday February 21st, 2025 at 6:30pm until the following morning on the 22nd. Blast from the Past Movie Night Popcorn Packs

Available once a quarter… “Blast from the Past Popcorn Packs”! Family Night Bingo

Join us at the Clubhouse for a fun-filled Family Bingo Night! Bring the whole family for an evening of excitement, laughter, and a little friendly competition. Whether you're a bingo pro or a first-timer, everyone is welcome to play along and enjoy the thrill of shouting "Bingo!" $5/family RSVP required  

Bunny Hop Eggstravaganza

Bring your basket and bunny hop on down to the Clubhouse to enjoy a variety of Easter crafts, games, and an egg hunt! A special photo booth will be on site to capture your awesome photo with New Brighton's very own Easter Bunny! Remember to hunt for eggs around the Clubhouse, and keep your eyes open for golden eggs to win a special prize! This event will run from 10am-12pm & 1pm-3pm split up hourly using timeslots residents will be able to RSVP for. RSVP for this event will open on Wednesday, March 12th at noon and will be completed on this page via Google Form.

One Stop Boxes

One Stop Boxes:  A night of fun… where the planning is done for you! Looking for a fun family night, where the planning is done for you?  The NBRA is excited to offer quarterly 'One Stop Boxes' suitable for families of all sizes! The Family Fun Night box is only $25 and all you have to do is place your order and get ready to unbox your night of fun! The best part about the NBRA’s 'One Stop Boxes' is that, unlike other box services… no subscription is necessary. You can simply order the box prior to the order due date. Boxes are now offered quarterly. To purchase your box, please call 403-781-6613 ext 1 or email programs@nbra.ca today! Family Fun Night Box: Inside the December Family Fun Box you will find games, activities and recipes to complete with your family to celebrate the festive season! Comedy at the Clubhouse

Take the night off and laugh! Another year means another great Comedy at the Clubhouse. Experience some fantastic Calgary comedians, enjoy cold drinks from local breweries, and dive into tasty appetizers! Tickets for Comedy at the Clubhouse will go on sale on March 19th at noon. Festival of Flavours

Need to give your taste buds a kick? Want to see performances that will be sure to show you sights you've never seen? Take a trip to the New Brighton Clubhouse and grab a meal from a great choice of international food trucks. Make sure you stick around to watch some fantastic performances from groups within Calgary! New Brighton Cleanup

The New Brighton Community Cleanup is back in 2025. Save a trip to the landfill and bring any items that don't fit in your black bins to Shepard Community Hall for easy disposal. This service is free of charge to all Calgarians. Items that are accepted: All standard city of Calgary waste items Charity donation items Tires Car batteries Bicycles Metals/Electronics Confidential Shredding Recycle Me "Free" Store Cadets Bottle Drive Book Swap (weather_ Items that are not accepted: Household chemicals Glass/Paint Propane/Helium tanks More information will be posted on the New Brighton social media accounts and this event page when available. Stampede Breakfast

Don’t miss out on attending New Brighton's largest event of the year! Mosey on down to the Clubhouse Saturday, July 12th, from 9am-noon and take part in all the Western festivities. Enjoy the free pancake breakfast, play great carnival games, relax with live entertainment, and remember to stop by the NBRA petting zoo! Grab your friends, family, neighbours and any cowpokes you find to enjoy one of the best Stampede Breakfasts in the South! This event is open to the public, therefore RSVP is not required. Friendly reminders from the NBRA: Pets are not allowed at the breakfast, we love our furry friends but they are unfortunately not allowed into the Clubhouse area on this day due to food preperation and farm animals being present. The NBRA office will be closed July 13th from 9am-2pm. Phones and emails will not be answered during this time. This event is open to residents and non-residents, grab your friendly, family and neighbor's and come enjoy a FREE breakfast. Pork sausages and buttermilk pancakes will be served. There will be options for vegetarian sausages. Grab your family and bring your blanket to head to the Clubhouse for a wonderful movie-watching experience under the beautiful night sky! Popcorn, refreshments, and a choice of chocolate/candy will be provided for free with your RSVP to enhance your experience! We encourage all attendees to bring their own lawn chairs/blankets.
